Wedding Speeches - for the best man and others

The wedding toast speech dates back many, many years. There is no actual recorded date of when this custom actually began, however we are aware that it was happening as far back as in the ancient times.
A wedding toast speech is basically a raising of glasses as a toast to the health, long life and happiness of the bride and groom.

Congratulations, you are not the bride or groom but the person who gives the wedding speech!!

1. Think about what you want to say. Decide what you want people to know about your friend and his new wife and what you wish for their future.

2. Write it down. Don't read it, unless you really can't remember what you wrote

3. Be really honest in how you feel and what you are really wishing the couple

4. You can practice your speech in front of someone if that will help make you less nervous

5. Keep it short! The speech should be between 5 and 10 minutes.
